Over the past few weeks, I participated in the International Baccalaureate Programme Leader Training. The experience gave me a deeper appreciation for the ways schools bring the IB philosophy to life and how evaluators can support schools in their growth journeys. I'm grateful for the learning and look forward to contributing meaningfully to the IB community.

Teachers remove barriers to learning to enable every student to develop, pursue and achieve challenging personal learning goals. (0403-05)

This year, I've been focusing on how to better remove barriers to learning in my classroom, ensuring every student can pursue meaningful and challenging personal goals. Small changes in how we differentiate, scaffold, and encourage independence can make a powerful difference.

Purpose

The school community fosters internationally minded people who embody all attributes of the IB learner profile. (0101-03)

During our Week Without Walls trip to Cambodia, I watched our students bring the IB Learner Profile to life — showing curiosity, courage, empathy, and reflection at every turn. Experiences like these go beyond academics; they shape internationally minded young people ready to make a positive difference in the world.

Culture

The school promotes open communication based on understanding and respect. (0202-03-0400)

This season with the ISNS High School Girls' Soccer Team was about more than just trophies — it was about building a culture grounded in fun, camaraderie, and grit. Watching our players grow together, support one another, and honor their essential agreements has been a true reflection of the IB spirit of collaboration, open communication, and mutual respect.

ISTE Standards

2.1 Learners

Educators continually improve their practice by learning from and with others and exploring proven and promising practices that leverage technology to improve student learning.

One goal I had attending Future of Learning Hong Kong was to better understand how AI could transform learning experiences. Engaging with educators across different contexts expanded my thinking and fueled new ideas I'm excited to bring back to my students. Growth happens when we step into new conversations.

4.1 Change Agent

Coaches inspire educators and leaders to use technology to create equitable and ongoing access to high-quality learning.

Grateful for the chance to share my session at EdTechGZ 2025! We explored how revisiting assessment feedback through Generative AI can transform learning experiences. The conversations and connections reaffirmed how powerful it is when educators come together to drive positive change.

4.2 Connected Learner

Coaches model the ISTE Standards for Students and the ISTE Standards for Educators and identify ways to improve their coaching practice.

I had the opportunity to attend the 21CLHK Conference in Hong Kong, focusing on the evolving role of AI in education. Staying connected to emerging innovations reminds me how important it is for educators to be lifelong learners. Grateful for the chance to engage with leading thinkers and bring new ideas back to my students and community.

4.5 Collaborator

Coaches establish productive relationships with educators in order to improve instructional practice and learning outcomes.

Sharing Moodle practices with AKD group of schools

I had the opportunity to share how I use Moodle to support learning and assessment with educators across the AKD group of schools. It was a great chance to reflect on how digital platforms can create more personalized, student-centered learning environments. I believe meaningful change happens when we collaborate and learn from one another.
